Kelli Ruchalski is a head coach with Williamsville Stampede Field Hockey and currently coaches the u19 Lime and u12 teams. She is also a teacher and varsity field hockey coach at West Seneca West High School, where she has coached since 2007.
Kelli played at Iroquois High School for six years (one year JV, five years varsity) as a forward/midfield and finished second in career goal scoring. She earned 1st Team ECIC, 1st Team All-WNY, and All-State honors, and served as a team captain. She also competed in the Futures program, including the National Futures Tournament and Junior Olympics.
Kelli continued her career at SUNY Cortland from 2003–2006 as a four-year starter at forward/midfield, totaling 62 goals and 41 assists. She ranks second in career scoring and first in career assists at Cortland. Her teams reached the Final Four in 2003 and the NCAA Final 8 in 2004, 2005, and 2006, including an undefeated regular season and a No. 1 national ranking in 2006. Individually, she was named SUNYAC First-Year Player of the Year in 2003 after setting the school record with 22 goals as a freshman. She was a First Team SUNYAC All-Star in 2004, 2005, and 2006 and was named SUNYAC Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006. She earned North Atlantic Region First Team honors from 2003–2006 and was a First Team All-American in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Academically, she was named to the SUNYAC All-Academic Team from 2003–2006, the SUNYAC Commissioner’s Academic List from 2004–2006, and the National Academic Squad from 2003–2006. Additional highlights include a London, England tour in 2004 and a feature in Sports Illustrated “Faces in the Crowd” (February 9, 2004) after tying the NCAA Division III record for goals in a tournament.
In her coaching career, Kelli has served as the Head Coach of West Seneca West Varsity Field Hockey from 2007 to the present. She also founded the Buffalo Hurricanes in 2007, serving as Founder, Director, and Head Coach for u19, leading the program from 2007–2020 and continuing as a head coach from 2020–2023 after giving up ownership. Kelli joined Williamsville Stampede in 2023 and has served as a head coach with the club since then.
Kelli is from Wales, New York, and she and her husband Carl have two children, Troy and Tess.
