Coach Francesca “Fran” Cutrona grew up in Williamsville, NY and competed in field hockey as well as indoor and outdoor track at Williamsville South High School. She served as team captain of all three sports during her senior year and also played club field hockey with the Buffalo Hurricanes Field Hockey Club.

Fran continued her athletic career at Buffalo State College, competing in Division III Track as a thrower in shot put, weight throw, discus, and hammer. She earned All-Academic Team honors from 2014–2016 and was named to the Commissioner’s List in 2016.

Fran graduated from Buffalo State with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She is currently a Gifted Programming Specialist at Maple West Elementary School in Williamsville, NY.

Fran began her coaching career as an assistant track coach and with Girls on the Run, then went on to coach JV Field Hockey at Clarence High School. She is currently the JV Field Hockey Coach at Williamsville East, where she has coached for the last three seasons, and she also coaches Modified Track at Williamsville North. Fran has been with the Williamsville Stampede Field Hockey Club for four years, coaching at the U14 and U16 levels and working with the HERD clinics.
