Abby Vaccaro is a coach with Williamsville Stampede Field Hockey and currently coaches the u19 Lime team, leads advanced skills clinics, and provides personal coaching. She has been involved in field hockey for 20+ years and brings extensive experience, knowledge, and love of the game to the Stampede program.

Abby attended Cazenovia High School, where she helped make program history as part of the first team to win a state title in school history in 2010. Her hat trick in regionals played a key role in their championship run.

She went on to play four years of Division III field hockey at SUNY Brockport. Despite battling injury and undergoing surgery, Abby earned recognition as a top-10 all-time points scorer, served as team captain for two years, and was named Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. She was also selected as Player of the Tournament in Springfield, Massachusetts and earned Brockport Student Athlete of the Week honors.

Following her playing career, Abby continued at Brockport as an assistant coach, taking on responsibilities including recruiting, creating practice plans, implementing and demonstrating drills, managing substitutions during games, building game strategies, and developing strong relationships with players.

Abby later moved to Virginia, where she worked as an elementary PE teacher in Fairfax County and created a PE program for a low-income school. While there, she also coached field hockey as a u19 club coach, served as a head freshman field hockey coach—leading her team to an undefeated season—and continued personal coaching both virtually (during COVID) and in person.

After five years in the south, Abby returned to Western New York and built another PE program at Niagara Charter School while serving as an assistant coach at Starpoint High School, helping coach the team to a sectional championship. In 2023, she joined Stampede coaching u19 Black and advanced skills clinics, while continuing her private personal coaching.

Three years later, Abby is currently a PreK–8 health and physical education teacher at St. Mark’s School and an assistant varsity field hockey coach at Nichols School. She continues to coach u19 Lime with Stampede, leads advanced skills clinics, and remains active in personal coaching.

Abby (formerly Eschen) lives in Buffalo with her husband Jordan (also a coach) and their dog, Kiko. With a mom who was her teacher growing up and a dad who was also a coach, Abby credits her family for inspiring her passion for teaching and coaching. She also has two older sisters and a brother, and she remains very close with all of them.
