Coach Nicolette “Nico” Tomani is a coach with Williamsville Stampede Field Hockey and serves as the club’s Social Media Director. She has coached multiple age groups within the program, including u19 (prior), and currently coaches u16U  u10/u12.

Nico attended Nichols, where she played four years as a forward and midfield. She earned All-WNY First Team honors in 2013, All-WNY Second Team honors in 2014, and was named team captain in both 2013 and 2014. She also competed internationally at the club level with Go Reds Field Hockey Club in Canada.

Nico continued her playing career at Mercyhurst University, competing four years at forward. In 2017, she was the team’s top scorer and served as captain. She was also recognized academically throughout college, earning Dean’s List honors in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and was inducted into Mercyhurst University Criminal Justice Alpha Pi Sigma and the Association of College Honor Societies, affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS), in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Nico was named a PSAC Scholar Athlete in 2017 and 2018 and was selected to the NFHCA Division II National Academic Team in 2017 and 2018.

Her additional collegiate honors include selection to the NFHCA Division II Senior Game in 2017, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Hockey 3rd Team in 2017, Team MVP in 2017, and Most Improved in 2015. She was also a Team USA College Player International Club Selectee in 2016 and competed in Division II softball and ice hockey at Mercyhurst University. Nico also completed graduate study at Mercyhurst University and earned Dean’s List recognition all four years.

In her coaching career, Nico is an Assistant Coach for Nichols School Varsity and Junior Varsity (2023–present). Her teams have achieved significant success, including the Varsity 2024 CISAA League Championship as part of a three-peat performance, an undefeated league season, Varsity 2025 second place in CISAA, and an undefeated Junior Varsity 2024 league play campaign. She has also coached at Williamsville North, serving as Assistant Coach for the Varsity team (2021–2022) and Head Coach for the JV team (2021). During that time, the varsity program earned the Section VI Class A title (2021–2022), finished second place in the State Finals (2021), and the JV team completed an undefeated season in 2021 while breaking a four-year losing streak to Clarence JV.

Nico also coaches with the HERD clinics and is CPR certified. She is originally from Hamburg, New York and currently resides in Lancaster, New York.
